Portrait of meHello and welcome to my photo-blog.

I want to first say thank you for taking the time to check me out.

I started this blog to fill a gap in the way I show my photography to family, friends and potential clients. I have a few other sites were I display my work, however none are geared toward me documenting my thoughts on photography and sharing the things I experience on a daily basis. I shoot all types of photography. Sometimes I think I am addicted. I have countless numbers of pictures saved on my hard drive that would otherwise go unseen. I have so much to share and will take on the task of getting the highlights of my photographic career here on this blog.

I don't have time to maintain several different blogs for all the aspects of my photography so you will see a mixture of photos posted to this blog. It will be business mixed with a bit of personal. There is so much I want to get out and I don't want to hinder myself too much with organization (must be the artist in me). You can rest assured it will all be about my love for photography.

Feel free to leave comments on the photos you like. I would like input to keep this thing interactive. I would also like to share tips with photographers to give insight on how I continue to perfect my craft (it is a constant learning process).

That is all for now. Check back regularly for updates...

Photography practice with my son

I love the fact that I have a son that is so willing to help me advance my photography skills. It is such a blessing to have him around. When we are done shooting I always thank him. I want him to know that I really appreciate what he is doing for me and not that he has to do it just because I am his Dad and can make him. When I thank him his eyes tell me that he appreciates it as well and there is a mutual respect and bond that form. Ok…Ok let me get off that sensitive kick. My eyes are starting to water. I just love my sons so much.

We went to my practice ground which is a large open field a few minutes away from my house. To add to the usefulness of this place there are train tracks that run right through the middle of it. The kicker is you can see for a good mile or so down the tracks giving you plenty of time to clear out if you had a shot set up on the tracks.

I know the train tracks are kind of cliché but I get a lot of good stuff from this place. Today with the light casting as it was I wanted to get some real dramatic photos with the theme of a little boy alone in a man’s world. My son plays the serious roll very good (I guess he gets that from me) and because he’s only 8, all my themes have to be of this nature for my practice. I have to say that these came out just as I wanted them. What do you think?
