Portrait of meHello and welcome to my photo-blog.

I want to first say thank you for taking the time to check me out.

I started this blog to fill a gap in the way I show my photography to family, friends and potential clients. I have a few other sites were I display my work, however none are geared toward me documenting my thoughts on photography and sharing the things I experience on a daily basis. I shoot all types of photography. Sometimes I think I am addicted. I have countless numbers of pictures saved on my hard drive that would otherwise go unseen. I have so much to share and will take on the task of getting the highlights of my photographic career here on this blog.

I don't have time to maintain several different blogs for all the aspects of my photography so you will see a mixture of photos posted to this blog. It will be business mixed with a bit of personal. There is so much I want to get out and I don't want to hinder myself too much with organization (must be the artist in me). You can rest assured it will all be about my love for photography.

Feel free to leave comments on the photos you like. I would like input to keep this thing interactive. I would also like to share tips with photographers to give insight on how I continue to perfect my craft (it is a constant learning process).

That is all for now. Check back regularly for updates...

Cody Yates

Today was a fun day of shooting. I got the wonderful opportunity to shoot the very talented and very fit Cody Yates. Cody is a certified personal trainer that specializes in training boxers (though that is not the extent of his clients). His trainees range from big time corporate execs to plain old photographer Joes like me.

Since it was raining today, I am glad I got a chance to do some indoor shooting using off-camera flash. I do a lot of natural light shooting, but you can't forget about controlled light photography, the skill comes in handy in many different situations were good natural light is not available. All these shots were taken with a canon 5d and either one or two off camera flashes. I am very pleased with what I got. My goal was to walk away with some very clean and dramatic photos portraying a boxer/trainer in his workout environment.

If you are looking for a personal trainer go ahead and give Cody a call. He is a very cool and down to earth guy with a dedication to and passion for fitness.

I want to give a big thank you to Cody for letting me come into his gym and reek havoc with my camera equipment.
