Hello and welcome to my photo-blog.The Home Grown Soul is an event that promotes local singing talent in the Sacramento area. Every Thursday night independent artists come to display their talent on stage in front of a live audience. The event is very mellow and a good place to go to be entertained and maybe have a drink or two.
In lighting situations like this I typically like to use available light. When you use available light the photos seem to come out more true to life. Take a look at these and you will see what I mean...

Great work Oliver! It's been since Christmas since I've checked your blog. You've got some GREAT work there! Love your creativity and angles on the shoot with Nila and later with the models daughter. J Redd shots are awesome! I loved all the great shots from OD IV's play. The shots of the bands were fun too! I love seeing so many posts. There is so much I could learn from you. I wish I could find a time to get together with all you SMUD photogs! Unfortunately, Life is going to have to seriously slow down first.
